Our Mission
At WePrep, our mission is simple: to empower students and families throughout the college admissions process by providing personalized guidance and expertise. We believe in giving students the power of choice, helping them find their best-fit universities, and taking charge of their futures.
Who We Are
WePrep was founded in 2024 in the Bronx, born out of a deep desire to support first-generation and high-achieving students. Our founder, Richard T., was the first in his family to navigate the complex world of college admissions. As a former admissions officer at a private university and later a college counselor, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion for helping students succeed.
What We Do
WePrep specializes in providing one-on-one support to 11th—and 12th-grade students and their families, particularly those with a high need for college assistance. Understanding that the admissions process can be overwhelming, we work closely with students to demystify each step, from building a strong profile to crafting a compelling application.

Unlike the typical overworked high school counselor, WePrep offers focused, individualized support. We understand that no two students are the same, which is why our approach is tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. We create personalized roadmaps to success, ensuring students maximize every opportunity to stand out and get accepted into the school of their choice. In fact, 80% of our students are admitted to their top-choice universities.

Our Founder’s Story
Richard Thompson., our founder, knows firsthand the challenges of navigating the college admissions process. As a first-generation student, he struggled with understanding the many moving parts of the application journey. His experiences as a student tour guide, admissions officer, and college counselor give him a unique perspective on what it takes to help students succeed. Over the past decade, Richard has worked with students worldwide, helping them find the best post-secondary options that align with their goals and aspirations.
